Rory struggled with substance abuse for over 40 years. He was in an out of jail, spending most of that time behind bars. At the end he had nothing left. Not family, or friends, he even lost himself. That was the turning point for him. He entered long term residential treatment and stayed for 18 months. Now, with almost 4 years clean, he is employed here at Jeremiahs Inn, giving back to guys who are struggling with the same issues he has. The joy he has found working in the field of substance abuse treatment has motivated him to pursue his Certificate in Drug and Alcohol counseling. In September 2017, at 57 years old, Rory will go back to school for his CADC. Rory is a motorcycle enthusiast, and spends much of his free time on warm days riding his Harley. He also enjoys spending time with his grandchildren and his friends. He finds joy watching the residents stay clean and begin to live healthy and productive lives. While not every resident is successful, Rory says one thing he can say from his heart is that the staff at Jeremiah’s Inn put their whole heart and soul into the guys that walk through the doors and even after they leave. He is proud to be a part of the Jeremiah’s Inn team.
